Perhaps it is a feeling of nostalgia or a simple longing for the impending rejuvenation of spring, but it is in the air, and it is palpable. But just as palpable are the introductions and developments that have been made by the DAOGroup wizard team over the sleepy months of December and January. The DAOGroup ecosystem is growing, expanding, evolving, and becoming better with every new iteration that the development team is making with great enthusiasm for the benefit of the community.

It is with great pleasure that we introduce the Developer’s Update issue for the month of December 2019 and January 2020. The two months were filled with intense work as the development team strove to identify any flaws and bugs and eliminate them while developing new modules for the entire infrastructure’s boosted operation.


The DAOPlatform is the centerpiece of the DAOGroup ecosystem, so it is no surprise that much attention was devoted to improving its operation. The month of December saw a complete rewrite of the WebSocket service on golang. The changes in the service were made to achieve better communication cohesion for the entire system with the network.

The team also carried out load testing of the system to ensure its smooth operation in the future as the number of users grows.

One of the key processes undertaken by the team also involved a complete rewrite of the CI (Continuous Integration) for the smart contracts, which allowed the system to achieve automatic testing and assembly.


The DAOWallet is the flagship product of DAOGroup and is therefore in prime focus when it comes to development. Considering that multiple users are already using the wallet, the development team is placing great effort into improving the application’s performance.

The first introduction made by the development team involved the removal of 2fa by mnemonics. Given the advanced security features already implemented in the DAOWallet, the team believed that the given security measure is inconvenient and no longer corresponds to the latest safety requirements in terms of world-class practices.

The voting feature was implemented into the DAOWallet. The voting feature allows users to have a say in the development of the network at the validator selection level. Users will be able to stake their BET Tokens and vote for validators directly through their wallet accounts.

The staking mechanism has also been fully developed and is currently being implemented in the DAOWallet. In essence, the staking mechanism involves the purchase of CPU, NET, RAM and other resources through the placement of assets on the user's wallet for validating transactions and awarding tokens in return. In the course of staking, the user's wallet checks the transactions passing through the network to ensure the ownership of the tokens and their rights of ownership. Such an approach is intended to motivate BET Token holders to keep their assets for gaining rewards. In addition, the staking mechanism is a complimentary security feature for verifying token ownership.

An important development for the DAOWallet is the start of development of a B2B solution. The inclusion of the given feature will allow for expanded functionality of the DAOWallet beyond the individual user level to the corporate level. Businesses will be able to use the DAOWallet for settlements and running their operations, which will open entirely new prospects for the use of the application.


Work on DAOGames continues. The development team was engaged in testing and fixing bugs on the platform to ensure smooth operation. The process is standard procedure and routine when it comes to new product releases.


The DAOBet platform is the cornerstone of the entire ecosystem, and that is why the development team paid much attention to its improvement and expansion.

One of the features that the team is currently working on is the research of rewards for voter. Given that voting is an instrument for operating the system’s development, it is important for the voters to have a stimulus in improving the infrastructure.

An important event is the gradual merger of DAOBet with EOS 1.8. Considering the scale of the update and its multiple features, it is important for the development team to take its time to ensure a smooth merger with the new version.

Another crucial improvement made to DAOBet is the inclusion of an improved RANDPA plugin. This feature will allow for better operation of the RANDPA.

The DAOBet 1.1.2 version was released with a number of updates and improved operation. A number of bugs and minor fixes were made based on user feedback and flaws identified in the course of routine system testing.

Finally, improved tests and a simulator for tests were implemented as a back office feature to continue improvements on the infrastructure. Such features are necessary for the developers to facilitate their work and improve the quality of development in both time and efficiency terms.


The months of December and January may have been sleepy for the most part of the world’s population in the haze of holidays and vacations, but not for the DAOGroup team. With much at stake in the coming releases and with the trust and reliance of the community bearing down on them, the team worked hard to make sure the ecosystem is operating at full capacity and new features are being made available.
